Little Prince
Do you see that little boy in the picture? That is my nephew Joey. He just turned 6 not long ago. That picture was at Christmas and I caught him playing with something that he wasn't supposed to have. I laugh outloud every time I see it. After he was born my sister came to TX with my parents, I don't think I put him down the whole time they came to visit. It was Texas people and it was hot. I carried that little boy with sweat dripping and hanging... Now he would rather talk to Uncle Keith. He has a corky little personality and doesn't ever forget anything. EVER! He is the sweetest little boy and I hate that we miss out on seeing him grow... just like my other nephew and my niece (and the one on the way). He doesn't like to talk on the phone so I don't even get to really talk to him. Tonight though was different. My sister told him that I wanted to talk to him to find out what he wanted for his birthday. I had talked to my sister earlier today and she informed me that Joey had asked where my gift was on his birthday. I made sure to remind her that she never answers the dang phone and never returns any phone calls so how was I supposed to know what he wanted???? So anyway, he got on the phone tonight and didn't say much when we first starting talking. It kind of went like this:
Me - Hey Joe, Hey buddy how are?
Joey - Nothing
Me - Ummm, Are you there Joe? Happy Birthday buddy, Did you have a good Birthday?
Joey - Nothing
Me - Hey Joe, why don't you tell me what you want for your Birthday?
Joe - (Blurts out in lightning speed) A Rocket, a Krypt the Superdog Rocket
Me (had no clue what he just said) OH great Joe, I'll get working on that, let me talk to your Mom, Love you buddy...
Notice he said nothing until I asked about the gift! That cracks me up!! So then I go to check my email and guess what I got? I got an email from Joey and this is what it said
" Dear Aunt Julie, I want a superdog ship, and I love you"
I can't tell you how much that tickled me pink! I love that email! Guess what I am doing tomorrow people...
I don't know what is greater though that he actually said he loved me or that he remembered that I existed enough so that I would buy him a gift! Love that little boy I do!!
Happy Birthday Joey... Aunt Julie Loves you more than you will ever know.
