Home on the Range

I now know the reason why people did not live as long as we do now back in the Pioneer days... it wasn't lack of medicine, vaccines, or poverty.... it was lack of Air-conditioning people!!! I don't know how Keith's parents do it. We stayed with them for one night and had to come back to my parent's house the next day. During the day we had a good time... they had a ton of people over, grilled food, drove the ATV's... it was fun. BUT then it was time to go to sleep and Miss Em was not having it. She was not tolerating being so hot. She would not sleep alone, would not sleep with us, and simply fell asleep from pure exhaustion around 4am. It was horrible. Okay, and not to get too gross but Mommy wasn't doing too well either. I think I had some sort of heat stroke or something because I had to make 2 QUICK trips to the bathroom... get it? Just from sweating and getting sick yesterday I lost 3 pounds!! I am serious....
Anyway, we came back to my folks around dinner time last night. Em hadn't had a nap in two days and only slept maybe 4 hours at night. You can imagine the state she was in!!! I thought I was going to have a time putting her down to bed but she was thrilled and went right to sleep. I was in bed not long after...
Today I think I am going to muster the troops and go on a shopping trip to the big mall here. I say big because here there is a choice of malls unlike where I live. It seems wherever I move I always have a small crappy mall to go to. If I don't like it I can go for a nice long drive which really isn't an option when you have a small kid for many reasons. In this area there are a ton of malls plus shopping plazas. We also plan on going to the Great Escape some time this week. That should be a lot of fun but a lot of money I am sure!!! When I was little the park was known as Storytown before SixFlags took it over. My grandparents took my sister, my cousin, and myself just about every summer. The park holds so many memories of my childhood so it will be neat to bring my own daughter there. I am sure it has changed a ton since I was there last but I know SixFlags kept a lot of the original theme of Storytown for historical purposes so it will be nice seeing all of that again.
Well, I think I hear a few gobbles coming from my turkey upstairs. At least she isn't yelling so that is a good start to the day!! Hope you all are having a good week. I need to keep myself awake this week and catch up on all of your Blogs. I am a bad Blogger friend, I keep falling behind... There is just not enough time in the day when you are on vacation...KWIM? Anyway, later for now people...
