Can I get a High Five?
I would like to take a moment and Thank the Lord above for finally switching the Potty Power button to the ON position in my child's brain! That is right people... This house is now diaper free. FREE OF DIAPERS! Whooooohooooooo!!! :)
It was rough people.... It started off with explaining to Em that she was now a "Big Girl" and it was time for her to wear her big girl pants. We told her that she had to throw her baby pants away and she did. Then the floods started. I think I filled my quota of picking up piss... Thank you. We did the bride with the M&M's at first. Then we moved to just stickers and now we just expect her to do it with no prize. The first two days were hell...no I am sorry, Fucking hell. All is said and done now and she is 100 percent potty trained during the day. The night is a different story. I tried and I am tired of cleaning sheets every day already. So, we are taking a break from it and I will try again soon. There is only so much piss cleaning one mother can take...
So, after Em and I got back from NY Keith met us home the following day. I picked him up from being in the desert for 3 weeks and had Chinese food and beer waiting for him. Yeah, sometimes I am a nice person... We spent the weekend together doing family things like going to the beach, shopping, watching movies... then his parents came to visit the following Tuesday. Now everyone is gone again as of yesterday morning. Keith is or still in route to Iraq for a short stint before his actual deployment. It sucks that he has to go now but nothing that either of us can do about it. I just hope that he comes home safe and sound...
Big Brother started it's new season last night. Anyone watch it? Anyone an addict like myself? I love that show!! My sister and I even made my father watch it last year. We took over his TV when I was in NY so that is why. Anyway, I am not sure who I like/don't like yet but that blonde haired chick kept freaking me out... she looks so much like Anna Nicole Smith! Anyway, I am uber excited about the show, I know... I am geek, I have been told many A times!
Nothing much else is going on. I haven't had much time to do anything with traveling, In-laws, and cleaning up piss every few minutes. I miss taking pictures and having some one on one time with Em. I think I am going to take her for a nature walk while Keith is gone and her and I can take pictures. She likes to see what I take afterwards. My father bought me a disk that teaches me how to use the features on my exact camera. I haven't had time to sit and look/learn but I am thrilled about it. Now maybe I can take better pictures after viewing it. Other than the nature walk though I haven't much planned while Keith is gone. I just want to spend some time with Em alone and enjoy her. She is going to go to school this coming year 4 days week for three hours at a time. I know that doesn't seem much but it is just the beginning of what is to come. No more little baby... She is a big girl now with going to school. Emily will have a lot going on this coming Fall. She has school and her father will be going away for a long time. I want to use this alone time with her to talk to her, have fun, and enjoy the down time together. At least for this next deployment Emily can speak and understand what I am saying to her. That is a major plus for me and hopefully it will ease her stress as well. Speaking of her talking... it is so strange to actually be able to have a conversation with her now. Just 6 months ago we were still at the 3 word broken sentence stage but since she has really flourished. She uses the words "I", "me", "you" now and she never did that before. Her sentences are longer and pronounces her words better. She is really such a big girl now... where did the time go? It wasn't that long ago that we were so worried about her speech and now she is talking non stop!! I am so proud of her!
Well, on that note I should probably get ready for the day and do some stuff around the house. Hope you all had a good holiday...
