It's been interesting
To say the least...
The reunion has been just a little difficult on Em... to put it mildly. She is not big on changes and she is letting us know it. She has been crying and whining all day for a week. Fun stuff people, really it is. On top of that she has a head cold (so do I of course), and that of course makes matters worse. Anyway, Em has been screaming if I even happen to get within an inch of being away from her. Keith and I actually decided to take her to the Doctor today thinking maybe we are just horrible parents and she really did have something wrong with her. I mean, it's THAT bad people... So we go there in within 5 minutes the doctor told me she had a "head cold"... and then said he thought I was sick as well. Well, no shit!! Is that why we have all this snot coming out of our noses? Hmmm... you IS so smart there Mr Doctor!! So, no ear infections... nothing... she is just being a MONSTER because Daddy is home and invading her space and disturbing her routine. That's just great.
So, people, looks like Em needs some time. Anyone want to come over and babysit for about a month?
Besides the whole monster kid thing... Everything seems to be back to normal. Including video games... Have I told you how much I HATE them... well, I do. And by the way... that reminds me. The past 2 times that I have talked to my Brother in Law Ian, he has "Thanked" me for his wife Kari and her "addictions" and how it is MY fault! Her addiction to Blogging and her new photography fetish. Ummm.... What the hell do you call what your doing to/with Keith? You enable his addiction to VIDEO GAMES!! So consider that my personal thank you and consider us even!! And just so you know... you can blame Stacie on the photography addiction, not me... But yes, blame me for the blogging.... I mean all this in a loving way, of course.
So for me this whole having a husband home again is nice and kind of ummm, tiring. Not only do I have to take care of Em but now I have to cook and do a ton of damn laundry again! I like having him back though so it makes up for it! Good thing for him! LOL
In a couple of weeks we are headed out to the cabin for some R&R with Kari, Ian and Scott. Can't wait and I am sure Kari will take an ass load of pictures with her new multi-million dollar camera .... Just so you know, Kari will not be taking any pictures of me or that multi-million dollar camera is going to "somehow" disappear... I'm just sayin'... But Em and Keith are fair game. I truly hate my picture being taken. I look about 500 times more than what I actually weigh in a picture and I can't make a natural smile to save my life. So... a model I am not.... Just so you know Kari... I love you and all but not enough to pose for some pictures.... LOL
Well, I am sure some of you might want to know what it was like when Keith came home. Of course being it is me that we are talking about SOMETHING had to happen right before he was coming home... because of course God loves a good laugh so why not have me run to the hospital like a crazy person two days before his arrival? Let's just say I smashed the shit out of my hand two days before Keith was due home. I had to get my friend Sarah to watch Em so I could get an Xray done and see if anything was broken. Luckily it was not, but I had to wear a bandage in order to function. God has a good sense of humor. My hand was nice and black upon Keith's arrival. Keith asked what happened to my hand and my response was pretty much this "This is what has been happening the whole fucking deployment Keith, welcome to my life"... Anyway... had to get my sob story in for you...
So, the day finally comes and Em and I waited for two hours to pick Keith up. Let's not talk about how Em was the devil in front of everyone for two hours....
Finally the two white buses pull into the parking lot and they lined up in front of us. The Marines came out on the other side of the bus and went into formation. Once they were in formation the buses pulled away and there they all were. It was great. Lots of crying and lots of cheering!! We hugged and kissed... and hugged some more. It was wonderful and yet strange to see him after so long. We have pretty much spent the week trying to adjust and be a family again.
Thank you all again for your support and I promise to get into the swing of things soon. We are taking a short trip but after that I will be up and running more regularly... Stay tuned.
