My Gift

Dearest Emily,
Your second Christmas is coming. It is kind of bittersweet with your Daddy gone. I can't get over how much you have started to look like him lately... You certainly have his determination in life. I look at you every day and see your Daddy looking back at me. I know things have been difficult these past few months for us but in a few months your Daddy will be coming home again. Daddy and I have talked about so many things we want to do. We are going to the park, camping, the beach, all sorts of stuff... the main thing though is that we are all going to be together.
You have no idea how much your Daddy loves and misses you...I know this is a hard time for him being gone away from you for Christmas. I know though you will make it up to him when he comes back.... you have many gifts to give him... lots and lots of sweet kisses, long embraces, and lots of snuggle time.
I wanted you to know how proud I am of you. I know it has not been easy for you to understand everything as why Daddy left or even where he is. I want you to know that Daddy is giving you a special gift this Christmas, you are a very lucky little girl... Daddy is far away this Christmas so that you may sleep well at night, Play safely during the day, grow up to be an independent woman, and live in a free country... You have made a huge sacrafice for your country Emily at such an early age... You have no idea what an amazing little girl you are....
We are so blessed to have you in our lives Emily... Daddy and I love and adore you. We both hope you have a wonderful Christmas. With the new year brings your Daddy back home... We both look forward to going on many family adventures together and learning more about you and loving you all the way... We thank God for you every day. You are the most amazing gift God has ever given us... Merry Christmas my Turkey...
