Checking In
Well, since Emily spent the night with Aunt Kari and Uncle Ian I actually have a second to sit and Blog.
What a whirl wind the past few days have been. Lots and lots of driving and traveling all over. I have to say Emily was a perfect child the whole time. She has proven to be a true Marine's daughter and adapted perfectly... Ohhhrahhh Emily! LOL On the first day of driving to NY Emily asked a couple of times if she could get up (out of her carseat), and I told her she could not, not for a long time and she didn't ask again. She watched her movies, ate her snacks, read her books, and napped. We spent the night at the half way point with our friend Lisa. She has two little girls and a new little baby boy. It was great seeing all of them and Em enjoyed the break out of the car. She played really well with the girls and liked looking at the baby... I am really glad we got the chance to stop and see them and hope we weren't too much of a burden... Sometimes a two year old can be a handful in somebody elses home!
The second day of traveling was the part of the drive that I hate the most. I hate driving through the Northern part of VA, hate driving Maryland on the 95... and I truly HATE driving in the State of New Jersey. HATE IT! Please allow me this brief letter to NJ so I can get this out of my system real quick...
Dear NJ,
While driving on your crappy ass NJ Turn Pike and Garden State Parkway I was made to pay several tolls.... I would like to know what the hell you use that money for...May I suggest using some of that money to purchase some fucking signs? The whole time I was in your lovely state I didn't have a fucking clue what city I was in nor did I know the distance to the next lovely city I was driving to. Trust me when I tell you that people driving through your state want to know how much further it is until they are fucking out of it!
Jewl...
Okay, let's carry on shall we?
Once we got here on Thursday we spent the afternoon hanging out with EM's cousins (Catie and Joey), her grandparents (My folks), and Aunt Krisin (My sister of course). Then on Friday morning we all left for the Hamptons. Again, Em did very well on the drive. The Hamptons were great. It was allot of fun seeing the kids play on the beach together. Here are a couple of pictures...
Here is Em riding her Boogie Board (Kind of)
Here is Em with her Cousin Catie
And here she is with Joey her other cousin (He was busy doing his own thing so it was hard to get them all together)
We had a really good time there together. Em drove me nutso in the restaurants but I guess that is what you get with a toddler... We did allot of Beach Bumming, Shopping, and eating.... What more can you ask for? Thanks Mom and Dad! It was awesome!!
We came back to NY on Sunday, just in time for the rain to start in New Hampshire, so that was fine with us! Then I called Kari on Sunday night and invited myself along with Emily and all my inlaws over to her new house on Monday. Aren't I nice? Kari's and Ian's new house is awesome! I don't mind saying that it is out in the middle of nowhere!! And I mean that, it is up in the mountains, very country, with corn fields being their closet neighbors... BUT it is beautiful there. It is very quiet, clean, and the air is crisp and fresh smelling, if you know what I mean. Anyway, Emily fell in love with their new puppies. I have to say I was pretty proud of her for being so gentle with them. Aunt Kari let her hold them and pet them (along with Mommy Patches who was awesome with letting Emily touch her brand new babies). Emily didn't want to leave them alone... here she is the box with one of them.
Can I also mention that Uncle Ian got up early that morning and made Emily an awesome cake? Not just a cake, but it was decorated with her name on it... How many uncles do you know that would do that? I had to pick on him just a little for it because after all he does work in a craft store and now makes very pretty cakes, and let's face it, I AM a sarcastic Bitch. That being said, I was touched that he would think or even do such a thing for her. Here is a picture of her cake... And in his own words he was a "Busy little Bee" that morning!
And, here is Uncle Ian with Emily showing her how to fine tune a Paintball Gun, you know, some of the important things in life.
Here is a really cute picture of Emily with Scott who was showing her something and both their facial expressions are too cute!
And of course let's not forget Aunt Kari with Emily who jumps lovingly to her every need! LOL
So, that about sums it up so far. We have been on the road allot and jumping right in with seeing all the family. I would show you pictures of Emily with my sister (Her other doting and ever so loving Aunt, but Kristin was in her bathing suit at the beach. If I posted them on the Internet along with her grandparents who were also in bathing suits I might end up having to sleep in the shed outside for the rest of my trip... so until I get them in actual clothing you are going to have to wait!)
So, this is me checking in... Hope you are all doing well. I am trying to play catch up in your lives so I will be paying some visits to your blogs as well... Tata for now people...
