Home away from Home
Okay, so it's been awhile. What else is new when it comes to me blogging?
We are settling in. We have been here two weeks now. Em went through this thing where she was pissed off at me and acting like a little shit to me. I think she is over it now. She is acting more like herself again. Meaning she is just being her pain in the ass self ( I mean that in a loving motherly way of course), rather than a snotty little B that hits and kicks when mad. I don't think she fully understands that we are staying here for so long but she will get it. She has asked me if we are going home a few times and I just keep telling that it will be a long time. She keeps asking about Keith was well. She understands that he is at "special work" and that he will be gone for awhile but that is the extent of it. She is enjoying her new school though. I wouldn't say that she is the social butterfly of the class but she doesn't seem to be in panic mode while there either. It's allot of adjusting for one little girl to go through. Little does she know what it is going to be like like the baby comes along...
Speaking of the baby. I can now hear the baby's heartbeat on the Doppler (Thanks Kari), fairly easily now. A few weeks ago during my stint in the hospital it was running in the 170's but now is 155-157. I think it's going to stay at that now. Keith is insisting that it's a girl. Hopefully in the next month I will find out. And yes, we are still keeping the gender a secret!! I have also felt the little stinker move a few times just the past couple of days. It is a light tapping and is always in the same spot. I know it's early but they say you can feel things earlier the second time around. To be sure it was the baby I put the Doppler right over where I felt the tapping and sure enough there was the heartbeat...
I have heard from Keith a few times. He is working long hours every day with no days off. That sucks but I guess you don't get those in a War... He seems to be in good spirits though and maybe with working so much time will pass quickly for him. He has promised to take some pictures for Emily soon and I know Em is going to love it when she sees them. She asks every day to look at the pictures now so I know she is going to love seeing some new ones of him. Even with his bald head!! Did I forget to mention that? He shaved his head bald before leaving... I told him he needs to grow it back before he gets home! Although, I have to admit I do envy him a bit. I am ever so close to pulling a Brittany! These prenatal vitamins are making my hair grow at insane pace!! Seriously, I am sick to death of it!
Besides adjusting and all of that everything is fine. I have my moments but who doesn't in this situation? I try not to think about everything too much. Frankly I am too tired to anyway. I don't know what it is about the air in NY but it is exhausting me! I think I have been in bed by 9 every night and fell right to sleep. Of course I get up to go pee like 4 times a night now but that is just one of the perks of being pregnant.
So, The Double K will be adding two new additions to the "family". Two little girls. Kari and Ian are buying one and Keith and I the other. They are two little babies, very cute and ummmm, if you ask me very expensive! I know though that we are getting a good price but gessshhh, it's a lot of money to drop on a farm animal(s). For those of you that don't have a clue what I am talking about... Alpacas. That's right people. Keith and I are are going to be farmers when we get of the Corps. Of course that already makes Kari and Ian farmers as they have started the herd already. So, you have those stories to look forward to in 4.5 years as well. Anyway, the girls are very cute!! It was a little freaky though visiting the farm where we are purchasing them though. I had about 20 Alpaca smelling my belly. I like Alpaca a lot but I don't like 20 of them all at once smelling my belly....
So, that about sums it up. Between Alpaca shopping, winter attire shopping, getting new doctors, unpacking, school, dealing with a temper tantrum child, being pregnant and uber tired, and a husband in a war... I guess you can say not much has been going on. I just wanted to fill you in cause I know you all are on the edge of your seat waiting for this post. So, until next time people...
